Cannery Works News: May 22nd, 2007

Cannery Works and photographer Timothy Briner announce the launch of BOONVILLE USA (www.boonvilleusa.com) - a six-state, six month journey documenting "The Death and Life of America's Small Town". Plans and preparations for the August 1st start date in Boonville, Missouri are well underway. As of this writing, we have acquired the support of The Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, MA, Tim's alma mater. They've generously granted us full use of the needed photographic equipment for the six-month journey. We're also starting to collect monetary donations - approximately 3,000 per month that Tim is on the road- and making good progress. To become associated with this project, visit www.canneryworks.org or www.boonvilleusa.com and donate today!

"MEL & EL: THIS SHOW RHYMES" - Cannery Works' 2007 smash hit theatre project - completed a sold-out run at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in midtown. Over 250 guests enjoyed the show and together we helped create over 500 meals through partnership with the Food Bank For New York City. Catch Mel & El as they continue their show at The Duplex, June 20th - 22nd. Visit www.theduplex.com for reservations. Proposals for 2008 Cannery Works Theatre Development are being accepted now through September 15th, 2007.

COMING LATER THIS YEAR: The first Cannery Works Festival of Emerging Filmmakers featuring seven top films from college filmmakers across New York State - and the return of our home-based music salon series. Sign up with your email address for invitations to these events at www.canneryworks.org.
